Latvian Business Angel Network

LatBAN exists to help business angels make great investments across Baltics. To make it happen, we:

1. help become smart Business Angels by offering specific training, advice and co-investment opportunities to reduce risks;

2. help increase the potential for ROI by carefully sourcing and selecting startups, mentoring startups, raising the qualification of Business Angels, establishing cooperation at the Latvian and foreign level and creating joint investment opportunities;

3. participate in the growth of the innovation ecosystem in Latvia for future investment opportunities - by providing expertise to policy makers, start-ups and innovators.

The association was founded on 29 April 2014. The goal of the association is to extend and develop the network of investors in Latvia and support new and perspective projects. This is why we organise Investment Sessions, during which investors and new entrepreneurs meet with each other.

A business angel is an investor that has accumulated experience in entrepreneurship and invests own private funds in business projects. He provides important support to new enterprises with a potential for rapid growth at their early stage of development. Business angel’s experience in entrepreneurship helps in excluding risks in entrepreneurship and gives an opportunity to find the shortest path to profit.
